Abstract:
The invention relates to a side airbag for motor vehicles, comprising an airbag (4) which is to be arranged as intended on a vehicle seat (12), with the result that, in order to protect a vehicle occupant who is seated on the vehicle seat (12), it can be deployed laterally next to the vehicle occupant, and a gas generator for filling the airbag (4) with a gas, with the result that said airbag deploys. The side airbag is characterized in that the airbag (4) and the gas generator are configured and provided to be arranged on the vehicle seat (12) in such a way that the airbag (4) is supported in the deployed state on a backrest frame of the vehicle seat (12).
