Abstract:
The invention relates to a side channel compressor comprising a housing shell (2) and a rotor (3, 45, 48). The rotor is rotationally mounted in relation to the housing such that two ring-shaped sealing points (31,32) are created between the housing shell and rotor. The housing shell can be manufactured in a single piece between the first and second sealing points.The gap measurements of the first and second sealing points can be adjusted by means of a spring washer/nut system (42,43) or a tumble device(61, 62, 63). A fan wheel (9) can be secured to the motor shaft and the housing shell can be provided with cooling ribs (7), wherein said cooling ribs (7) are arranged and formed in such a way that the air transported by the fan wheel (9) brushes past the cooling ribs (7). One of the ring-shaped sealing points (31,32) can be provided with a dead volume chamber (33). The housing shell can be a cast part or a machined extruded profile. The invention also relates to housing shells and rotors for said side channel compressors.
