Abstract:
A side cutter comprises a generally disk-like or generally ring-like cutter body (10), two or more outer peripheral blade tips (20) with cutting edges (21) projecting from the peripheral surface of the cutter body (10), and two or more corner blade tips (30) with cutting edges (31) projecting from the end surface of the cutter body (10). The outer peripheral blade tips (20) and the corner blade tips (30) are so disposed on the cutter body (10) that the rotation paths of the edges (21, 31) thereof adjacent to each other about the center axis of the cutter body (10) are overlapped with each other. At least one set of the outer peripheral blade tips (20) and the corner blade tips (30) which have the rotation paths of the edges (21, 31) separated from each other is so disposed as to be separated from each other in the direction of the center axis of the cutter body (10) and to be set at a generally same position in the circumferential direction of the cutter body (10).
