Abstract:
Provided is a side rail (1) formed in the shape of a split ring having an abutment (10), and combined with an annular spacer expander (2) to form a combination oil ring (3) for an internal combustion engine together with the spacer expander (2). The side rail (1) is configured to have: an outer circumferential surface (14) facing radially outward; an inner circumferential surface (13) facing radially inward; a first axial side surface (11) arranged to face toward a crankcase; a second axial side surface (12) arranged to face toward a combustion chamber, and parallel to the first axial side surface (11); a projection portion (20) provided on the outer circumferential surface (14) and on a side closer to the first axial side surface (11) relative to the middle position between the first axial side surface (11) and the second axial side surface (12), and arranged to project radially outward relative to the outer circumferential surface (14); and a tapered portion (23) provided between the second axial side surface (12) and the outer circumferential surface (14).
