Abstract:
A side release buckle (1) is provided with a plug (10) and a socket (20) into which the plug is inserted and engaged. The plug (10) has a base section (11), a pair of leg sections (12) projecting from the base section (11), and engaging sections (14) formed on the tips of the leg sections (12) so as to project in the front and rear surface directions. The socket (20) has a body (21), an insertion opening (22) formed in the body (21) and allowing the leg sections (12) to be inserted therein, a containment space (23) for containing the leg sections (12) inserted from the insertion opening (22), catch sections (24) capable of engaging with the engaging sections (14) located at the tips of the leg sections (12) contained in the containment space (23), and a pair of guide surfaces (30) for guiding the engaging sections (14), which are inserted from the insertion opening (22), to the catch sections (24). The pair of guide surfaces (30) has narrowing sections (31) formed on the inner surfaces of the containment space (23), extending in the direction of insertion of the leg sections (12), arranged so as to face each other, and formed so as to continue to the catch sections (24), and the pair of guide surfaces (30) also has guide sections (32) formed further on the insertion opening (22) side than the narrowing sections (31). The distance (W2) between those portions of the guide sections (32) which are on the catch section (24) side is greater than the distance (W1) between those portions of the narrowing sections (31) which are on the catch section (24) side. The angle (A2) of tilt of each guide section (32) relative to the insertion direction (DO) of the plug (10) is set to be less than the angle (A1) of tilt of each narrowing section (31) relative to the insertion direction (DO) of the plug (10).
