Abstract:
In order to improve the convenience of users, a signal conversion unit converts a first transmission standard signal inputted from a first external device into a second transmission standard signal. For example, in a first transmission standard, image data and voice data are transmitted using a pair of differential signal lines, and in a second transmission standard, the image data and the voice data are transmitted using three pairs of differential signal lines. A signal selection unit selects, as an output signal, the first transmission standard signal inputted from the first external device or the second transmission standard signal obtained by the signal conversion unit. A control unit controls the selection operation of the signal selection unit according to a transmission standard supported by a second external device to which the output signal is supplied.
