Abstract:
In conventional signal sources, there has been an issue that due to aliasing caused by sub-sampling, a thermal noise of a comparison signal input to a PFD is degraded, and a phase noise of an output signal from the signal source is degraded due to the degradation of the thermal noise. A signal source of the present invention is provided with: a phase comparator which detects a phase difference between a reference signal and a mixed signal, and outputs a signal according to the phase difference; a loop filter which filters the signal output from the phase comparator; an oscillator which outputs an oscillation signal according to the signal filtered by the loop filter; an S/H circuit which is synchronized with a clock signal and samples the oscillation signal output from the oscillator; and a mixer which frequency-converts a first signal generated by sub-sampling by the S/H circuit, and outputs the mixed signal.
