Abstract:
A signal transmission device, wherein transformers 22a, 22b and a reception circuit 24 are formed in one and the sample chip, and an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection element connected to the transformer connection terminal of the reception circuit 24 is thereby dispensed with, making it possible for a negative pulse generated in a receiving-side inductor 11 to be used for signal transmission. Thus, signal transmission using both a positive pulse and a negative pulse is made possible, and it is made possible to perform stable signal transmission activity even when a delay time in a signal detection circuit varies. Furthermore, a reception circuit of low power consumption can be configured by using a single-ended Schmitt trigger circuit 14 for the signal detection circuit.
