Title:
SIGNALING MESSAGE TRANSMISSION IN A WIRELESS NETWORK BY MEANS OF A SELECTED SUBCARRIER OR AN ORTHOGONAL SEQUENCE IN THE TIME-FREQUENCY PLANE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2009/120941
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
First technique (fig. 5) : a signalling message, e.g., a reduce interference request is sent by mapping it to at least one specific subcarrier (m) among a set of subcarriers reserved for sending the signalling message (0, 1, 2,..., m,..., M-1). The at least one subcarrier is selected based on the message value. A signal is then sent on the at least one subcarrier (m) in multiple symbol periods to convey the signalling message. Second technique (fig. 6) : a reduce interference request is sent by mapping it into an orthogonal sequence {uθ, ul,..., uM-1} of length M, among a set of M orthogonal sequences. The sequence is selected based on the message value. The sequence is sent on a resource segment, formed by T symbol periods and N subcarriers, wherein T*N=M. Third technique (fig. 7) : a reduce interference request is processed to obtain modulation symbols, and each modulation symbol is then spread, by means of a known reference signal sequence r(n), across multiple subcarriers in one symbol period.
