Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a silanol compound making it possible to efficiently produce a silanol compound. The method for producing a silanol compound comprises a proton exchange step in which a silicate having a structure represented by formula (a) is reacted with an acidic compound having an acid dissociation constant pKa of -1 to 20 in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) to generate a silanol compound having a structure represented by formula (c). (In formula (a), Qi+ represents a cation having a valency of i, and i represents an integer of 1 to 4.)
