Abstract:
The present invention is a compound that can improve the scratch resistance of a hard coating or the like and is a coating agent resin composition that includes said compound. A silicon composition according to the present invention is a silicon compound (a) indicated by formula (I) in the description, R1 being a C3 or C4 alkylene, X being one group selected from among the group comprising formulas (II) and (III) in the description, n being 0 or 1, Y being one group that has a methacrylate group and that is selected from among the group that comprises formulas (IV)-(VI) in the description, and R2 being hydrogen or a methyl group. When the silicon compound (a) is used along with a curable resin, scratch resistance, presumably imparted by stress relaxation, can be improved remarkably.
