Abstract:
The invention provides a novel silk fibroin film and a novel silk fibroin yarn which are excellent mainly in suppleness and strength and a novel process for production of the film and the yarn. A novel silk fibroin film and a novel silk fibroin yarn which have satisfactory degrees of crystallinity and contain a plasticizer can be produced by crystallizing a silk fibroin film or a silk fibroin yarn and then making a plasticizer (such as glycerol) permeate the film or the yarn.
