Abstract:
Provided is a silver material which is highly suitable for mass production and has a crystalline structure capable of allowing the best performance of an electronic component or device.
After the final plastic processing of a silver material, a heat treatment is carried out at least either in vacuo, in an inert gas atmosphere or in a reducing gas atmosphere until just before the silver material begins to melt to thereby form a recrystallized tissue. In this recrystallized tissue, which comprises a single crystal, crystal grains become larger than in a 4N silver material having an electrical conductivity of 106 (%) or less and have a lower grain boundary density per unit volume than the 4N silver material.
