Abstract:
Provided is a similar image search system in which a keyword assignment function is improved and the easiness of searching is improved. The similar image search system comprises an imaging device, a video recording device for recording image data input from the imaging device on a recording medium, and a terminal device. The video recording device extracts the feature amount of the image data during recording and holds the extracted feature amount. When searching for image data having a high similarity with respect to the feature amount of a specified search key image and displaying the searched image data, a means for assigning the same keyword at a time to an arbitrary part of the data of the searched multiple images and another means for assisting the selection of the part of the image data according to similarity are provided. Even in an event search in which a parameter is specified without using similarity, similar image searching is performed in the background by using the searched image data as a key image, and the keyword already assigned to a similar image is presented to the user as a candidate to be assigned to the searched image data.
