Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a simple automatic electronic tourniquet which will not inflict pain on the person to whom blood flow occlusion is to be carried out in a pre-venipuncture preparation stage and is able to shorten the time required for venipuncture preparation while occluding blood flow appropriately. The automatic electronic tourniquet is provided with: a cuff; a pressurizing means for gradually increasing the internal pressure of the cuff; a depressurizing means for gradually reducing the internal pressure of the cuff; a pressure detection means for detecting the internal pressure of the cuff; a target pressure setting means by which a target internal pressure for the cuff can be set; a pressure control unit for controlling the internal pressure of the cuff to a pressure approximating the target pressure set by the target pressure setting unit; and a notification unit for outputting a notification that the subject is ready for venipuncture. The width of the cuff of the tourniquet according to the present invention is set to less than or equal to 75 mm, or more preferably between 10 mm to 60 mm inclusive, in order to avoid stress factors on a patient, namely excessive pressure, prolonged blood flow occlusion, and sudden increases in pressure.
