Abstract:
The invention relates to a simply articulated fuel flap (1) intended to be fixed to the body shell of a vehicle, said fuel flap (1) comprising a flap bowl (3), a flap panel (9) and a hinge (13) articulating the flap panel (9) to the flap bowl (3), characterized in that said fuel flap (1) comprises a plate fitting (23) fixed to the flap bowl (3) and to which the hinge (13) is attached, the plate fitting (23) comprising means of attachment to the flap bowl (3), means of attachment to the hinge (13) and means of indexing with respect to the body shell of the vehicle. A method of fitting a fuel flap (1) is also proposed, in which method use is made of a mounting jig indexed geometrically to the side of the body shell (5) in order to position the plate fitting (23) on the flap bowl (3) before the flap panel (9) is attached to the plate fitting (23).
