Abstract:
Provided are a simulation method, simulation device, and simulation program that can increase yield and allow appropriate compression molding even of wood having knots. In order to do so, image data stored by a memory means is read, and knots in the surface of a blank are detected via image recognition performed on the read image data. If a knot is detected, the shape of the knot is estimated via reference to information, stored by the memory means, regarding the shape of the blank. On the basis of the estimation results, a location and shape to cut out of the blank are decided, said location including part of the knot, such that the thickness of that part of the knot is roughly equal to the post-compression thickness of the blank.
