Abstract:
A manufacturing method of a single-mode sapphire fiber grating comprises the following steps: clamping and securing a sapphire fiber (a) onto a displacement platform; adjusting the displacement platform such that a laser emitted by a femtosecond laser device (b) is vertically directed at the sapphire fiber (a); adjusting the femtosecond laser device (b) such that the laser separately forms a focused light spot at both sides of the center of the sapphire fiber (a), and the displacement platform driving the sapphire fiber (a) to move at a constant speed in an axial direction to manufacture a single-mode sapphire fiber; and forming a grating in the single-mode sapphire fiber to obtain a single-mode sapphire fiber grating. The manufacturing method of a single-mode sapphire fiber grating can produce a single-mode sapphire fiber grating with small insertion loss and having a narrow bandwidth and high precision.
