Abstract:
Use of a fine copper-based powder, specifically a copper-based powder which includes at least 80% particles having a diameter of 45 µm or less, makes it possible to significantly reduce air permeability. When this copper-based powder is used, the sintered metal can be easily made to have a copper content of 40% or less (iron content of 60% or more) and hence enhanced wear resistance and to have an oil permeability to 1.00 g/10 min or less and hence an increased degree of oil film formation.
