Abstract:
Disclosed is a sintered cubic boron nitride tool which is stable and has long life in both applications of cutting work and plastic working. Specifically disclosed is a sintered cubic boron nitride tool wherein a cubic boron nitride sintered compact is used at least in the point of action of the tool. The sintered cubic boron nitride tool is characterized in that when the ratio of cubic boron nitride contained in the cubic boron nitride sintered compact is represented by X (% by volume) and the heat conductivity of the cubic boron nitride sintered compact is represented by Y (W/m·K), the following formula (I) and either the following formula (II) or the following formula (III) are satisfied.
20 ≤ X ≤ 98 (I)
Y ≤ 0.6 × X + 3 (wherein 20 ≤ X < 88) (II)
Y ≤ 5.8 × X - 455 (wherein 88 ≤ X ≤ 98) (III)
