Title:
SINTERED MAGNET MANUFACTURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/138841
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing a sintered magnet having good yield and high coercive force. [Solution] This sintered magnet manufacturing method comprises subjecting an Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet as a base material to grain boundary diffusion processing using an alloy powder comprising a rare-earth element R, and then removing a residue existing on a surface of the sintered magnet that has been subjected to the grain boundary diffusion processing. The alloy powder is represented by RxAyBz, where R is at least one of rare-earth elements comprising Sc and Y; A is Ca or Li; B is an unavoidable impurity; 2 ≤ x ≤ 99; 1 ≤ y < x; and 0 ≤ z < y. The removal of the residue is performed by projecting a projectile material onto the surface of the sintered magnet.
