Abstract:
Provided are: a sintered neodymium magnet whereby, when used as a substrate for a grain-boundary diffusion process, RH can easily diffuse across rare-earth-rich phases and the substrate itself has high coercivity, maximum energy product, and squareness ratio; and a method for manufacturing said sintered neodymium magnet. This sintered neodymium magnet is characterized in that: the mean diameter of main-phase particles in said sintered neodymium magnet is less than or equal to 4.5 µm; the overall carbon content of the sintered neodymium magnet is less than or equal to 1,000 ppm; and the total volume of carbon-rich phases in rare-earth-rich phases at grain-boundary triple junctions in the sintered neodymium magnet is less than or equal to 50% of the total volume of said rare-earth-rich phases.
