Abstract:
Provided is a sintered valve seat which is press-fitted into the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and in which a seat layer that repeatedly engages with a valve is integrated with a support layer that contacts the cylinder head. The seat layer includes a seat layer body including a matrix comprising an Fe alloy and hard particles comprising a Co-based alloy distributed in the matrix, and Cu or a Cu alloy filling a hole portion of the seat layer body. The content of the Fe alloy in the seat layer body is 55 to 90 mass%. The support layer includes a matrix comprising Cu and/or a Cu alloy, and Fe particles and/or Fe-alloy particles distributed in the matrix. The total content of the Cu and the Cu alloy in the support layer is more than 35 mass% and not more than 95 mass%.
