Abstract:
A sizing agent for glass fiber yarns used as glass cloth warp and/or weft which excel in plaitability and enable preventing fuzzing at air jet weaving; and a glass fiber yarn prepared therewith. In particular, with respect to a glass fiber yarn prepared by twisting a strand obtained by plaiting 50 to 300 glass filaments of 3 to 6 μm average diameter and used as glass cloth warp and/or weft, a sizing agent for use in the strand plaiting, comprising at least an etherified high-amylose starch of 50% or more amylose content, a vegetable oil, paraffin and an emulsifier wherein the loading ratio between vegetable oil and paraffin is in the range of 95 to 75 : 5 to 25 on the basis of mass part.
