Abstract:
A skew correcting apparatus comprises a transition detector (10), when detecting a
transition of an input data signal, provides a pulse signal; a variable delay line
(20) that generates a first delayed data signal obtained by delaying the input
data signal by a variable delay amount (VD); a fixed delay line (30) that generates
a second delayed data signal obtained by further delaying the first delayed data
signal by a fixed delay amount (FD); a phase comparator (50) that compares the
transition of the second delayed data signal with the phase of a clock signal;
and a control part (60) that controls, based on a result of the comparison, the
delay amount (VD) of the variable delay line (20). When the transition of the second
delayed data signal advances relative to a clock edge of the clock signal, the
control part (60) outputs a first control signal for increasing the delay amount
(VD). When the transition of the second delayed data signal lags behind a clock
edge of the clock signal, the control part (60) outputs a second control signal
for reducing the delay amount (VD).
