Title:
SKYLIGHT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/025032
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The skylight being specific in that the former window is shaped as a spherical dome (1) secured to the top frame (2) connected via the tube (3) with the diffuser (6) via the ceiling frame ring (5), and the tube (3) is jointed to the top frame (2) and to the ring (5), seated on the ceiling frame, using the polyvinyl sealing tape (8), whereas the diffuser (6) is composed of the clear diffuser (6a) and the prismatic diffuser (7), both secured in the double seal (4) shaped in its longitudinal cross-section as the letter E, and having, along its vertical axis, elongated termination adapted to the shape of the ceiling ring (5), the ceiling ring (5) being like upside-down T in its longitudinal cross-section, whereas the resilient tube (3), made of light reflecting material, is strengthened and heat-insulated with glass wool and houses the artificial light lamp (10) being secured on an internal arm (9) to the clamping ring inside the ring (5).

Claims:
1. Skylight This utility pattern refers to the skylight applicable in rooms where additional ceiling light is required. Common skylights are composed of flat glass panel in a frame installed in the roof sheathing. Known is also, as outlined in US specification No. US 005435780, a ventilated skylight to be installed between building roof and ceiling, composed of stiffening shelf, light transmitting cover, supporting components, ventilating elements and tube including a diffuser. Supporting components are spaced around a hole in the shelf and serve to provide a space between the roof and the light transmitting cover and to cooperate with ventilation elements. Also known from US specification No. US 4339900 is the skylight system composed of roofmounted closure and ceilingmounted window, the space between the closure and the window being connected by a resilient tube provided with reflective internal surface and a coil spring ensuring appropriate tensioning of the tube. The skylight of present utility pattern is specific in that it is composed of a dormer window being a spherical dome mounted on a top frame seated on the roof plane and being connected with resilient tube with reflective internal surface and terminated with diffuser which is installed in ceiling area via a ceiling frame ring. The diffuser is constituted of clear diffuser and a prismatic one secured in a double rubber seal which longitudinal crosssection is Eshaped and which has elongated termination along its vertical axis adapted to the shape of the ceiling ring which is, along its longitudinal crosssection, of reversed Tshape. Connections between both spherical dome and diffuser with resilient tube is sealed with polyvinyl tape and an artificial light lamp is mounted inside the tube to the clamping ring inside the ceiling ík e iing. The tube is strengthened and heat insulated with glass wool. A favourable effect of the utility pattern is the skylight construction which enables thorough sealing of ergonomic structure of room lighting while easy installation and simply design of the skylight is ensured as well as lighting up the room with both natural and artificial light.
2. The subject of the utility pattern is illustrated in the drawing wherein Figure.
3. is the general view of the skylight, Figure.
4. s its vertical crosssection and Figure 3 is the construction detail of mounting diffilser inthe ceiling frame ring. The skylight is composed of a spherical dome 1 secured to the top frame 2 and connected with resilient tube 3 which has reflective internal surface and the double diffuser 6 composed of the clear diffuser 6a and the prismatic difmser 7, both secured in the double seal 4 with Eshaped longitudinal crosssection and elongated termination in its vertical axis adapted to the shape of the ring 5 of the ceiling frame via the ceiling frame ring 5 which longitudinal crosssection is an upsidedown Tshape. The tube 3 is connected to the top frame 2 and to the ceiling frame ring 5 with the polyvinyl tape 8. Inside the tube 3, in its lower portion, there is an artificial light lamp 10 with resilient arm 9 secured to the clamping ring inside the ring 5. The resilient tube 3, which may be shaped as required, is strengthened and heat insulated on its exterior with glass wool which provides also fire protection for the structure. The skylight is applicable in rooms requiring additional day light wherein sufficient light can hardly be provided by regular windows. Claim The skylight characterized in that it is composed of a dormer window shaped as spherical dome (1) secured to the top frame (2) connected with a tube (3) with a diffuser (6) via a ring (5) of the ceiig : lEame, the tube (3) being joined with the top frame (2) and with the ring (5) of the ceiling frame by means of polyvinyl sealing tape (8) while the diffuser (li) is composed of the clear diffuser (6a) and the prismatic diffuser (7), both being secured in a double seal (4) with its longitudinal crosssection of Eshape and having, along its vertical axis, elongated termination adapted to the shape of the ring (5) of the ceiling frame, the ring (5) of the ceiling frame is of upsidedown T shape, whereas the resilient tube (3), made out of lightreflecting material, is strengthened and heatinsulated with glass wool, and inside the tube there is an artificial light lamp (10) secured on an internal arm (9) to the clamping ring inside the ring (5).
