Claims

1. Slats for rolling blinds, characterized in that they consist of two section bars of different materials which are coupled by pressure, thus forming a cavity which is filled with insulating polyurethane foam before or during the coupling.

2. The slats of the preceding claim, characterized in that the inside section bar is of PVC and the outside section bar is of metal sheet.

3. The slats of the preceding claims, characterized in that they have a curved body with end portions shaped so as to fit to each other.

4. The slats of the preceding claims, characterized in that the section bars fitted to each other are shaped so that they cannot be separated once coupled to each other.

Description:

Slats for rolling blinds consisting of a section bar of PVC coupled with a section bar of metal sheet and filled with insulating foam

Metal section bars are known and widely used to form slats for rolling blinds.

Section bars of PVC used for the same purpose are also known . Both section bars have drawbacks due to poor thermal insulation and mechanical resistance.

•The present patent application for industrial invention aims at providing two section bars suitably shaped to be coupled to each other and including an inner cavity into which an insulating polyurethane foam can be injected.

These section bars are shown in the accompanying drawings according to an indicative, not limiting embodiment .

Figs. 1 and 2 of table 1/2 show the two section bars placed on the pressure roller upon coupling, and Figs.

3 and 4 show the details of the coupling points.

Fig. 5 of table 2/2 shows the section bars of the two types upon coupling to each other.

Fig. 6 shows the two coupled section bars and Fig. 7 shows two section bars placed side by side to form the slats.

With reference to the figures, the first section bar consists of a curved body 1 ending on one side in a

fold 2 provided with a hook 3 and on the other side in a large hook 4 having a hooked base 5 extending from body 1.

The second section bar has like the first one a curved body 6 provided along its extension with two rings 7 and 8 at the extrados side.

The end portions have "U"-shaped sections 9 and 10 projecting from curved body 6 on the same side of rings 7 and 8 and provided with hooked ends directed to the inside.

On one hand a hook 11 extending from body 6 has its open end directed to the side of the extrados. With such arrangement it is self-evident that the two section bars can be fitted to each other by the pressure of suitable rollers which force the hooked ends 3 and 5 to engage the "U"-shaped sections 9 and 10, respectively.

After being coupled the two section bars cannot be detached anymore because, as shown in the details of Figs 2 and 3, hooks 3 and 5 cannot be disengaged once they are engaged in the "U"-shaped sections 9 and 10 as they are blocked by the hooked ends of said sections. Before or after the coupling the cavity included between the two section bars ca be filled with insulating foam.

Thus a slat is provided that can be fitted by hooks 3 and 11 with other like slats to form rolling blinds, rolling shutters and the like. The different materials of the slat, i.e. PVC inside and metal sheet outside, allows to withstand the weather conditions and to provide a good mechanical

resistance as well as an effective thermal insulation. The foam ensures an optimum acoustic and thermal insulation.

Formal and construction changes to the solution of the present invention can be made in particular as far as the materials of the two section bars is concerned without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.
