Abstract:

An ONU (2-1) according to the present invention is equipped with: a management control signal generation unit (211) that generates a control signal for requesting the assignment of a wavelength from an OLT; a modulation frequency selection unit (209) that selects from a plurality of modulation frequencies a modulation frequency for use in modulating the control signal; a modulation unit (212) that uses the modulation frequency selected by the modulation frequency selection unit (209) to modulate the control signal; a superimposition unit (213) that superimposes the control signal modulated by the modulation unit (212) onto a main signal, thereby generating a superimposed signal; an E/O conversion unit (214) that converts the superimposed signal to an optical signal; and a variable wavelength optical transmission unit (215) that converts the optical signal to an optical signal of a set optical wavelength, and transmits the resulting signal to the OLT.
