The invention relates to a sleep garment for the children.

The invention particularly relates to a sleep garment for preschool (game) and school- age children between 2 - 12 years of age which prevents their opening up while sleeping, provides an easy and comfortable blanketing and a continuous sleep.

Present State of the Art

Today, especially the children between the age of 2 - 12 from babyhood to adolescence period are bored from the blanket covering them, they open up these blankets while sleeping, thus it is one of the biggest problems of the mothers. The first 2 years is the babyhood period and it is possible to use swaddle or baby jumpsuit for babies. Due to the changing hormone balances especially in between hours 04:00 - 06:00, because the body temperature is at its lowest value, it causes being cold. This situation causes the children who open up their blankets, to wake up, not to sleep uninterruptedly or to catch cold unconsciously and to be sick. It is very important for the children to sleep uninterruptedly at night for their growth and development. Also, it is usually seen that since the children in smaller ages are more sensitive, when they open up their blankets at nights, they catch cold and become sick.

In the present state of the art, in order to prevent the children from opening up their blankets while sleeping, sleeping bags are used. Said sleeping bags cover the whole body from the shoulders to the legs completely and thus cause limitation of motion and cause the children to get bored. Also, it causes extra perspiration in the shoulder region because the children often sweat from their necks and shoulders. A high quality sleeping cannot be provided for the children since they cause sweating and overwhelm to the body. Moreover, since children grow and develop very rapidly, the usage life of purchased sleeping bags will be short and buying new ones will cause extra cost.

In the present state of the art, a swaddling suit that provides a safe sleep for the especially babies at night is used. This swaddling suit consists of a zippered cloth part in which the baby is placed and a winged portion with hook and loop fasteners to which the arms of the baby is wrapped. When the baby is placed in the cloth and the cloth is closed with its zipper, then the arms of the baby are wrapped by means of the winged portion and the baby is swaddled. Said swaddling suit provides a wakeless sleep by preventing babies from waking up at night by moving their arms. However, the zipper which is used to close the front portion of the cloth can disturb the baby while sleeping and can cause an uncomfortable sleep. Moreover, because the babies grow and develop rapidly, the swaddling suits become smaller in time and their economic life is short.

As a result of a search made in terms of the subject, the application numbered US8347432 and titled as“A single-piece swaddling blanket” is encountered. In the application, a child blanket which comprises a winged body wrapper and a leg bag for the baby’s legs is disclosed. The winged body wrapping portion comprises hook and loop fasteners which are adjustable to hold the swaddle stable. In this application, the blanket is used for swaddling. After swaddling the child with a blanket, there is not any upper garment which is adhered to the blanket by means of hook-and-loop fastening and prevents the blanket to uncover the child, is not available in this application.

As a result, due to the above mentioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions in terms of the subject matter, an improvement is required to be made in the relevant technical field.

Purpose of the Invention

The invention aims to solve the abovementioned disadvantages by means of being inspired by the current conditions.

The main aim of the invention is to prevent the children between the age of 2-12 from babyhood to adolescence period from opening up their blankets while sleeping at night and from being cold.

Another aim of the invention is to provide a comfortable and wakeless sleep at night especially for the children between 2 - 12 ages without damaging their bodies.

In order to fulfill the abovementioned aims, the invention is a sleep garment which comprises a blanket covering the chest, abdomen back and hip portions of the children, prevents the children in game and school period open up their blankets while sleeping, comprises at least two 1 ^st hook and loop fasteners engaged to the right and left ends of the inner surface of the blanket; and a garment dressed to top portion of the child, comprises a 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener which prevents the blanket to fall over the child by means of adhering on the 1 ^st hook and loop fasteners located in the inner surface of the blanket and on the other side adhering on the other 1 ^st hook-and-loop fastener when the blanket is covered on the child by means of engaging on one side.

The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following detailed description and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the inventive sleep garment (A) are explained only for better understanding the subject matter.

The sleep garment (A) subject to the invention comprises;

• a blanket (1 ) covering the chest, abdomen back and hip portions of the children between 2 - 12 ages without disturbing them in order to prevent their opening up their blankets while sleeping at night, which is manufactured from 100 % cotton material that does not give harm to the skin and comprises at least two 1 ^st hook and loop fasteners (2) which are engaged to the right and left ends of its inner surface,

• a garment (4) dressed to the child, which is not harmful to the skin and which is manufactured from of 100 % cotton material, comprises at least one 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) which is engaged on one side and when the blanket (1 ) is covered on the child, is adhered on the 1 ^st hook and loop fastener (2) from the front face and to the other 1 ^st hook and loop fastener (2) from the rear face of the blanket (1 ), prevents the blanket (1 ) from falling over the child.

The sleep garment (A) subject to the invention comprises two pieces as the blanket (1 ) and the garment (4). In order to provide the blanket (1 ) and the garment (4) stay together; at least two 1 ^st hook and loop fasteners (2) are engaged to the inner surface of the blanket (1 ) preferably to the right and left ends and a 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) is engaged on preferably one side (which may be right or left) of the outer surface of the garment (4) in a manner such that corresponds to the under arm and rear and front face.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, when the inner surface of the blanket (1 ) is in a position facing outwardly, the blanket (1 ) is covered on the child who is dressed with the garment (4) in a manner such that the left side (L) of the blanket (1 ) is brought to the front portion of the child and the left side (R) is brought to the rear portion of the child, a 1 ^st hook and loop fastener (2) engaged to the end in the left inner portion of the blanket (1 ) is combined with the front portion of the 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) engaged under the right arm of the garment (4); another 1 ^st hook and loop fastener (2) on the right inner surface of the blanket (1 ) is combined with the rear surface of the 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) and thus a safe blanketing is provided by means of preventing the blanket (1 ) fall over the child by keeping the blanket (1 ) and the garment (4) together.

In another embodiment of the invention, elements such as zippers or buttons can be used instead of the 1 ^st hook and loop fastener (2) and the 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) used for combining the blanket (1 ) and the garment (4) together. Therefore, because these elements can sink and damage the children’s body while they are sleeping, it is appropriate to use adhesive hook and loop fasteners with soft and non disturbing feature.

In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the garment (4) which is used to prevent the blanket (1 ) from falling by means of combining with the blanket (1 ) can be a long sleeved or short sleeved top garment. Usage of garment (4) instead of a jump suit (mentioned in the current embodiments) together with the blanket (1 ) extends the economic life of the sleep wear (A). The economic life of the jump suit is short due to the growth of the child because it becomes small. However, since the garment (4) of the inventive sleep wear (A) becomes small together with the growth of the child, it does not have the effect of reducing the economic life of the product. The 2 ^nd hook and loop fastener (3) located on the garment (4), after being removed, can be applied on a cloth available in the house easily. Accordingly, it is not required to purchase a new sleep garment (A).
