Description:
A sleeve of a device housing, heat exchanger housing in particular, and a housing which incorporates that sleeve

The invention concerns a sleeve of a device housing, heat exchanger housing in particular, and a housing which incorporates the sleeve; in particular, the invention concerns the sleeve for fixing the cover to the cylindrical jacket of the device housing, heat exchanger housing in particular.

So far, elements of device housings, heat exchanger housings in particular, have been joined together with bolts or welds.

Known from patent document PL393719 Al is a fixing which joins the cover to the cylindrical jacket of a heat exchanger with set bolts inserted through notches in the cover, arranged around the cover circumference and extending beyond the heat exchanger jacket, where the set bolts are placed in threaded openings in the horizontal pins, each of which is placed in between a pair of support elements fixed to the external walls of the heat exchanger jacket close to its cover.

Disclosed in patent document US 714 703 A is a heat exchanger with fixing bolts which join the cover to the heat exchanger jacket.

Also disclosed in patent document FR 2 583 390 Al is a system for fixing the cover to the housing with set bolts.

Known from patent document JP2009250443 is a method of joining elements of a heat exchanger housing by welding them together.

The purpose of the invention is to develop a device which would enable easy and fast assembly and disassembly of the housing in the form of a cylindrical jacket closed with a cover; specifically, the purpose of the invention is to develop a device which could be used to detachably join the cover to the cylindrical jacket, heat exchanger jacket in particular, as well a to develop such a structure of the cover and the cylindrical jacket which would enable joining them together using the device referred to above. A sleeve of a device housing, heat exchanger housing in particular, which contains a cover and a cylindrical jacket according to the invention is characterised in that on the external cylindrical surface of the sleeve there is a thread to cooperate with the thread in the cover, and on the inside the sleeve features at least one resilient pressure element shaped around the

circumference of the cylindrical surface or around a section of the surface, where the element is connected to the surface on the one end, and features a fixing socket on the other end to accommodate an element of a device therein, heat exchange pack in particular; moreover, the sleeve is fitted with technical means which enable its fixing to the cylindrical jacket of the housing.

Preferably, formed on the ring-shaped surface is at least one fixing tongue for the assembly on the cylindrical housing jacket.

A device housing containing a cylindrical jacket closed with at least one cover according to the invention is characterised in that the cover is joined to the cylindrical jacket of the housing with a sleeve featuring a thread formed on the external cylindrical surface and fitted with at least one resilient pressure element on the inside, formed around the internal cylindrical surface or its section, connected to that surface on the one end, and featuring a fixing socket on the other to accommodate an element of a device, heat exchange pack in particular, where the sleeve and the cylindrical jacket are fitted with at least one pair of matching technical means to mount the sleeve on the cylindrical jacket, while the cover contains a cylindrical section with a thread formed on its internal cylindrical surface to cooperate with the thread in the sleeve.

Preferably, the cover incorporates a ring-shaped section.

Preferably, on the inner surface of the ring-shaped section of the cover there is a groove formed to accommodate the gasket, and preferably there it at least one projection formed to cooperate with the resilient pressure element of the sleeve. Preferably, formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical section of the cover there is a groove to accommodate the gasket.

Preferably, on the ring-shaped surface of the sleeve there is at least one fixing tongue, and on the cylindrical jacket's ring-shaped surface which contacts the ring-shaped surface of the sleeve there is at least one notch which serves as the socket for the fixing tongue of the sleeve.

The sleeve structure according to the invention ensures easy assembly and disassembly of the housing, and its tightness.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the drawings:

Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 present the sleeve in axonometric view; Fig. 3 shows the cross-section of the sleeve in axonometric view; Fig. 4, Fig. 5 show the cross- section of a fragment of the pipe heat exchanger housing with a sleeve mounted thereon; Fig. 6 presents the cross-section of a fragment of a pipe heat exchanger housing with the sleeve as in Fig. 5 mounted thereon, all in axonometric view; Fig. 7 shows the cross-section of the cover in axonometric view.

The housing of an e.g. pipe heat exchanger contains a cylindrical jacket 10, closed on one or both sides with a cover 9. The cover 9 is joined to the cylindrical jacket 10 of the housing with a sleeve 1, where on the external cylindrical surface 2 of the sleeve there is a thread 3, and where the sleeve is fitted with a substantial number of pressure elements 4 on the inner side; the elements are formed around its inner cylindrical surface 5 or a section thereof and are joined to the surface 5 on their one end and fitted with a fixing socket 6 on their other end, the socket intended to accommodate the sieve bottom 22 of the heat exchange pack 21. The sleeve 1 and the cylindrical jacket 10 of the housing feature one, two, or several pairs of matching technical means to mount the sleeve 1 on the cylindrical jacket 10. On the ring-shaped surface 7 of the sleeve 1 there is one or any larger number of fixing tongues 8, while the cylindrical jacket 10, on the ring-shaped surface 15 which contacts the ring- shaped surface 7 of the sleeve 1 , there is the adequate number of notches 16 which serve as sockets for the fixing tongues 8 of the sleeve. The cover 9 contains the cylindrical section 1 1 featuring the thread 12 on its inner cylindrical surface, where the thread 12 cooperates with the thread 3 of the sleeve 1 ; the cover 9 also contains the ring-shaped section 13 with the groove 14 formed therein to accommodate the gasket 19, e.g. an O-ring. Formed around the circumference of the inner surface of the ring-shaped section 13 of the cover 9 there is the projection 17 shaped all around the circumference, which cooperates with the resilient pressure element 4 of the sleeve 1.

Formed on the inner surface of the cylindrical section 1 1 of the cover 9 is the groove 18 to accommodate the gasket 20.

The assembly of the housing proceeds as follows. The sleeve 1 is fixed to the cylindrical jacket 10 using the fixing tongues 8 by inserting them in the notches 16 formed on the ring-shaped surface 15 of the cylindrical jacket 10. Placed in the groove 14 formed in the ring-shaped section 13 of the cover 9 is gasket 19, preferably an O-ring, and placed in the groove 18 formed in the cylindrical surface 1 1 of the cover 9 is gasket 20. Then, the cover 9 is screwed to the sleeve 1 using threads 3 and 12. When the cover 9 is being screwed to the sleeve 1 , the sieve bottom 22 of the heat exchange pack 21 is being placed in the sockets 6 of the fixing pressure elements 4, while inserted in the slot 23 between the pressure elements 4 and the inner cylindrical surface 5 of the sleeve 1 is the projection 17 of the cover 9. In effect of the screwing of the cover 9 to the sleeve 1 the connected elements get pressed against each other which ensures tightness of their connection.
