Abstract:
The present invention relates to a slide switch for a hair iron. The slide switch for a hair iron, having a cover with a guide hole coupled to the upper side of two terminal chambers that are formed on the front and rear of the central partition wall of a switch case and being turned on or turned off as a movable terminal in contact with a sliding knob that is inserted in the guide hole along the movement of the knob interconnects with or is short-circuited from a fixed terminal, is configured to comprise: two recesses that are uniform along the front and the rear at the bottom surface of the sliding knob and fix and hold therein a U-shaped contact tip having a spring receiving hole formed on the upper side and a hemispheric-shaped lower end by means of a spring, thereby minimizing the height of the slide switch according to the contact tip and reducing the installation space for the slide switch to be mounted to a hair iron. Additionally, a conventional movable terminal located at the lower side of the U-shaped contact tip comes in contact with a support axis and performs a see-saw motion to be interconnected with or short-circuited from the fixed terminal. In this manner, when the switch is operated, the movable terminal in contact with the contact tip of the sliding knob rotates with respect to the support terminal axis, along the movement of the sliding knob; and it simultaneously makes an instantaneous connection with or is short-circuited from the fixed terminal, causing almost no damage to the switch due to a transient load current to provide a good-quality slide switch for a hair iron.
