A slider for use in a slide fastener and to which a pull tab can be attached and detached. The slider has a body, a pull-tab holder fixed to the body in a cantilever manner, and a closing body mounted to a free end portion of the pull-tab holder. The free end portion and the closing body are engaged with each other, and pull-tab holder endures a tensile load and a pressing load applied thereto and does not deform. The closing body (2) for opening and closing a gap (74) between the body (1) and the free end portion (32) of the pull-tab holder (4) fixed to the body (1) in a cantilever manner is formed so as to be slidable. When the gap (74) is closed by engagement between an engaging section (29) of the free end portion (32) and an engaged section (36) of the closing body (2), even if a tensile load is applied to the pull-tab holder (4) by operation of a pull tab (12) or even if a pressing load is applied to the pull-tab holder (4) by ironing, the structure prevents deformation of the pull-tab holder (4) to allow smooth replacement of a pull tab (12).
