Provided is a slider for slide fasteners that is able to push up the hook of a locking member when the separable pin is inserted in the slider without providing a sloped surface on the separable pin, and is able to engage the left and right fastener elements without providing a lock-releasing device. The slider is equipped with: a body (20); a locking member (40) swingably supported on a pillar part (31) that stands on the upper surface of the body (20); and a cover member (50) that covers the pillar part (31) and the locking member (40) from above. The locking member (40) comprises a main body (40a) that is disposed on the upper surface of the body (20), and a hook part (45) that protrudes from the main body (40a) and enters the element guide passage (27) of the body (20). On one side surface of the hook part (45), a sloped surface (46) that gradually tapers the hook part (45) towards the tip of the hook part (45) is formed. On the other side surface of the hook part (45), a stepped part (47) that makes the thickness (W2) of the hook part (45) less than the thickness (W1) of the main body (40a) is formed.
