Abstract:
This invention provides a sliding component which has been improved in the percentage surface copper covering in a sliding part. A raw material powder is filled into a filling part in a mold and is pressed into a green compact (6) which is then sintered to form a bearing as a sliding component. A copper-based raw material powder comprises a copper-based flaky raw material powder (2) having a smaller average diameter than an iron-based raw material powder (1) and a larger aspect ratio than the iron-based raw material powder (1), and a copper-based small raw material powder (3) having a smaller average diameter than the copper-based flaky raw material powder (2). Copper is segregated on the surface side. In the manufactured bearing with the copper-based flaky raw material powder (2) being segregated on the surface side, not only the copper-based flaky raw material powder (2) but also the copper-based small raw material powder (3) is exposed on the surface side to cover the surface with copper, whereby the percentage surface copper covering can be improved. The baking resistance can be improved by calcium fluoride (4).
