Abstract:

In this sliding component, a fluid-lubricated sliding surface has low friction during steady-state operation, and leaks of the sealed fluid and ingress of dust into the sliding surface are prevented. A pair of sliding components which slide relative to each other is provided. One of the sliding components is a fixed-side seal ring 7, and the other sliding component is a rotating-side seal ring 4. The seal rings have a sliding surface S formed in the radial direction and are sealed to prevent leakage of a sealed fluid. On the sliding surface S of at least one of the pair of sliding components 4, 7, a hydrodynamic groove 10 is provided such that the sealed fluid side and the leaky side are separated in a non-communicating manner by land portions R on both sliding surfaces; between the leaky side and the leaky-side end portion 10a of the hydrodynamic groove 10, a fluid introduction hole 11 is provided which allows communication between the hydrodynamic groove 10 and the leaky side, and a hydrodynamic groove-side opening 11a of the fluid introduction hole 11 which opens to the hydrodynamic groove 10 and a leaky-side opening 11b which opens to the leaky side are configured to be displaced in the axial direction.
