Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component having little leakage of high-pressure sealed fluid and low torque. The sliding component seals a sealed fluid present on one side, in the radial direction, of sliding surfaces 11, 21 that relatively rotate and slide, sealing same by having an annular mating ring 20 and an annular seal ring 10 face each other and causing each sliding surface 11, 21 to relatively rotate. A plurality of dynamic pressure recesses 12 are formed, separated, in the circumferential direction of the sliding surface 11 of the seal ring 10, said dynamic pressure recesses creating dynamic pressure by rotating and sliding relative to the mating ring 20. A plurality of static pressure recesses 22 are formed in the circumferential direction of the sliding surface 21 of the mating ring 20 at positions at which same work together with the dynamic pressure recesses 12, said static pressure recesses being recessed to a greater depth than the dynamic pressure recesses 12.
