Abstract:

Provided is a sliding component capable of securing sealing property while smoothly sliding on a sliding surface while rotating. In this annular sliding component 3, which is arranged at a position that relatively rotates during an operation of a rotary machine and in which a sealed fluid is present in one space among an inner diameter and an outer diameter and the other space serves as a leaking side space, there are formed on a sliding surface S of the sliding component 3: a communication groove 13 having a start point 14 that radially communicates with sealed fluid side; a storage groove 16 communicating with the communication groove 13; and a plurality of dynamic pressure generation grooves 10 that generate a dynamic pressure at the final point thereof while the rotary machine operates, wherein the dynamic pressure generation groves 10 are positioned radially closer to the sealed fluid side than the storage groove 16.
