Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component that supplies a fluid to be sealed to the leakage side between sliding surfaces so as to achieve high lubricating performance, causes less leakage of the fluid to be sealed, and can hold a large amount of fluid to be sealed between the sliding surfaces. An annular sliding component 10 is disposed where a rotating machine performs relative rotation. A sliding surface 11 of the sliding component 10 is provided with a plurality of dynamic pressure generation mechanisms 14, each configured from a first groove part 15 communicating with the leakage side and second groove parts 9A, 9B communicating with the first groove part 15 and extending on both sides in the circumferential direction. End surfaces 9a, 9b of the second groove parts 9A, 9B in the extending direction are disposed closer to the fluid to be sealed than the portions of the second groove parts 9A, 9B communicating with the first groove part 15 are.
