Abstract:
A sliding component is provided which can prevent contamination from accumulating in a guide groove. This annular sliding component 10 is arranged in an area on a rotation mechanism that carries out relative rotation, and slides relative to another sliding component 20; on a sliding surface 11, the sliding component 10 is provided with a guide groove 15 which communicates with an external space S1, and a dynamic pressure generating groove 16 which communicates with the guide groove 15 and extends in the circumferential direction and which has a terminal end 16B that is blocked, wherein the bottom 15a of the guide groove 15 has, in at least one area, an inclined surface 15a that is inclined in the radial direction.
