Abstract:
Disclosed is a sliding member which is used in direct sliding contact with a partner material in a rotational, oscillatory or reciprocating configuration and which has excellent wear resistance, has a high-precision sliding surface shape and has a sliding surface which has a low friction coefficient. A slide bearing (1) is provided with an electroformed section (3) which contains a solid lubricant. The plating deposition initiation surface (3a) of the electroformed section (3) is the sliding surface of the slide bearing. The electroformed section (3) has a plated base which is at least one metal selected from: nickel, copper, palladium, chrome, nickel-cobalt alloy, and tin. The solid lubricant is at least one substance selected from: polytetrafluoroethylene resin powder, molybdenum disulfide powder, polybenzoimidazole resin powder, polyethylene resin powder, carbon powder and an oil retaining body, and is exposed on the sliding surface (3a), which is the plating deposit initiation surface of the electroformed section (3).
