Abstract:
Provided is a sliding member having excellent abrasion resistance and high hardness in an environment in which a high load is applied. With this sliding member the surface of a sliding layer that supports an object to be slidably moved is subjected to a shot blast process, and a sliding surface having a concavo-convex shape with an arithmetic mean roughness (Ra) of 1.0-2.5 μm, a ten-point mean roughness (Rz) of 5.0-10.0 μm, and a surface hardness (Hv) of 220-250 is formed on the surface of the sliding layer.
