Abstract:

The present invention concerns an infinitely variable engaged gear with sliding sheet type of variable teeth. It belongs in the field of gear drive and infinitely variable mechanical variator. The variable-teeth gear is designed with the principle of 'sliding sheet type of variable teeth' and its working surface has a plurality of multiplelaminated sliding sheets (or sliding needles) to form any suitable shape of engaged teeth by free sliding of the sheets. Since the sliding direction of sheets is different from that of the load force, the sheets can freely slide to configure gear teeth. In drive conditions, since the loading direction is perpendicular to that of free sliding or the angle between them is limited within the range of frictional self-locking angle, the sliding sheets can not change the shape of teeth when loaded. All sliding sheets integrally form a closed elastic ring with features of 'rigidity-flexibility combination and movable teeth locking ', and with advantages of high loading capacity, high efficiency, simple construction, small volume and low cost. It can be used in vehicle or industrial field of high speed and large power.
