Abstract:
The present invention relates to a slim connector plug and an active optical cable (AOC) assembly using the same, the slim connector plug allowing an alignment between an optical element and a mirror and an alignment between the mirror and an optical fiber to be performed without a misalignment by using a manual alignment technique since an optical element module wafer and an optical sub-assembly wafer on which the optical fiber is loaded, are aligned by a wafer level alignment (WLA) method. The connector plug of the present invention comprises: the optical sub-assembly having an optical fiber loading groove, on which the optical fiber is loaded, formed at one side thereof; an optical element module which is stacked on the optical sub-assembly, coupled to an upper part, as a cover, of the optical fiber loading groove so as to form an optical fiber insertion channel, into which the optical fiber is inserted, and has, therein, an optical engine for generating an optical signal or receiving the optical signal; and an optical component provided at the optical sub-assembly so as to transfer the optical signal between the optical fiber and the optical engine.
