Abstract:
A slot die coater of the present invention comprises: at least two die blocks; a shim plate provided between the two die blocks to form a slot; and manifolds provided at the die blocks and receiving a coating solution, and discharges the coating solution onto a substrate through a discharge port communicating with the slot to apply the coating solution onto the substrate, wherein: die lips, which are the front ends of the die blocks, and the end of the shim plate are aligned to each other; the shim plate has an opening formed by cutting at least one area out of the end of the shim plate so as to determine a coating width of a coating layer applied onto the substrate; a corner portion on the side from which the coating solution is discharged of the corner of the shim plate is chamfered, the corner defining the opening; and when the thickness of the coating solution applied onto the substrate is A, the chamfered portion has a shape cut inward from the corner by depth A or more in an area positioned inward to be away from the end of the shim plate by distance A.
