Abstract:
Provided are a sludge thickening method, whereby a sufficient sludge-thickening effect can be achieved while facilitating the discharge of a thickened sludge, the sludge can be continuously thickened at a high speed, and the structure of a device therefor can be simplified and downsized, and a sludge thickening system.
The sludge thickening method and the sludge thickening system comprise: a solid/liquid separation step for horizontally or almost horizontally irrigating a crude sludge under atmospheric or reduced pressure to thereby separate the sludge into a separated sludge and a supernatant liquor, i.e., solid/liquid separation; and a flotation thickening step for, in the downstream of the solid/liquid separation step, combining the separated sludge with a bubbling gas under reduced pressure and thus vertically or almost vertically floating the separated sludge to thicken the same, thereby giving a floated sludge.
