Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a novel slurry composition for use in forming a lithium-ion secondary battery electrode, said novel slurry being capable of improving, even without using an organic solvent, not only the uniformity of dispersion of an electrode -active material and a conductive assistant and but also the binding between an electrode collector and either an electrode -active material or a conductive assistant; and a lithium-ion secondary battery which exhibits improved charge/discharge cycle characteristics and an improved battery capacity. [Solution] A slurry composition for use in forming a lithium-ion secondary battery electrode, characterized by comprising (A) an electrode-active material, (B) a conductive assistant, and (C) a microfibrillated cellulose fiber as an aqueous binder; a lithium-ion secondary battery electrode and a lithium-ion secondary battery, obtained using the composition; and an aqueous binder to be used in the composition.
