Abstract:
A small fuel power plant (10) comprises a combustion engine (12), which emits an exhaust gas (18) resulting from combustion, whereby the combustion engine (12) has a mechanical efficiency of at least 50 %. The small fuel power plant also comprises at least one generator (20, 22), which is coupled to the combustion engine (12) and which serves to generate current, and comprises an active heat exchanger (26) that is integrated in a buffer storage. The exhaust gas is either diverted around the heat exchanger via a bypass or guided through the heating device contained inside the heat exchanger. The thermal power supplied to the buffer storage can be increased by feeding fuel into the heating device.
