Title:
SMALL PILLOW WITH PILLOW-CASE, HAVING POCKETS FOR SCENTS AND MAGNETS WITH LINEAR MAGNETIC FIELD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/073893
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
With this invention a minimisation of the sleeping pillow (1) to the minimum possible size is accomplished. Not only the pillow hasn’t lost its useful characteristics by minimisation, but it has even been improved. Namely, the circulation of air around the head is increased, and with a special recess (2,3) in the pillow and the thickness of the pillow, a better definition of the head position is accomplished, due to which the neck part of the spine is increasingly protected. Cut in pockets (5) to hold scents and inserting scent materials into them, as well as inserted long permanent Ferro magnets (6) capable of generating almost linear magnetic field, contribute that original effects useful for a good sleep are accomplished. By covering the pillow with the special slip-on pillow-case (8) with opening at both sides with elastic gums (9) sewn in, a complete modern product is obtained.

CLAIMS
1. The small pillow consisting of a body, characterised by, that the body of the pillow is minimised to provide airiness around the head, with a cutin recess to define the position of the head, with a recess to decrease the pressure onto the bloodvessels in the neck, and with lateral slopes for moving the pillow along the bed easier. The small pillow according to claim 1, characterised by, that pockets for holding scents and other necessary tiny objects are cut in at the lateral sides of the pillow. The small pillow according to claims 1 and 2, characterised by, that long linear permanent magnets are built in longitudinally into the body of the pillow.
2. The small pillow according to claims 1,.
3. and 3, characterised by, that around the body of the pillow the pillowcase having openings at both sides with sewn in elastic gums is pulled on.
Description:
SMALL PILLOW WITH PILLOW-CASE, WITH POCKETS FOR SCENTS AND MAGNETS WITH LINEAR MAGNETIC FIELD DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION FIELD OF INVENTION The invention relates to a sleeping pillow, and could be classified as belonging to the class A47G 910 according to the International Patent Classification.

TECHNICAL PROBLEM A pillow or a head-rest should primarily support the head in such a position that ensures the neck part of the spine be kept in line with the axis of the spine, regardless of the posture the body takes during sleeping. It should also be comfortable, airy and adjustable to the head position and should satisfy all external conditions for a good sleep.

STATE OF THE ART A large number of solutions treat this subject in various ways, ranging from simple pillows with standard pillow-cases and chosen filling, to modern pillows shaped from sponge, with different bores for air circulation to obtain microclimate, and with small inserted magnets to modify Earth's magnetic field.

ESSENCE OF INVENTION Primarily, aim of the invention is that the pillow provides correct position of the head in every sleeping position. The invention also aims at solving the microclimate and airiness around the head in its specific manner which is the minimisation of the pillow. To avoid drilling holes in the pillow to provide airiness, the whole pillow is reduced to a dimension which is almost the size of the head, thus providing the flow of air around the whole lying circumference of the head.

A small recess in the centre of the pillow unambiguously defines the position of the head on the pillow, which can be seen from the drawings. The shape of the pillow itself also has a functional significance, which lies in the fact that it does not suppress the blood vessels in the neck and can be easily moved underneath the head by applying only light force of the hands.

Placed longitudinally inside the mini-pillow, there are two permanent magnets generating linear magnetic field, the magnets being somewhat shorter than the pillow itself. This magnetic field replaces a part of the linear magnetic field of the Earth disturbed mostly because of the effect of the so-called"Faraday's cage"which is induced by the iron reinforcement bars used in modern buildings.

Once shaped, the mini-pillow is placed into a special pillow-case or a slip-on with openings at both far ends of the pillow. Through these openings one can any time easily reach the pockets provided in the body of the pillow, in order to place or replace the scent substance, which is mostly the reason for providing these pockets. However, these pockets could be also used for some other practical purposes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS The accompanying drawings are a part of the description of the invention and they additionally explain the invention.

Fig. 1 is a spatial drawing of the pillow with its essential characteristics.

Fig. 2 shows usage of the pillow and the central cross-section of the pillow.

Fig. 3 is a spatial drawing of the permanent magnet.

Fig. 4 shows the pillow-case pulled onto the pillow.

Fig. 5 shows how pillow's thickness depends on the size of the person i. e. her or his shoulder width.

Fig. 6 shows the usage of the pillow from the side-view, to clearly show airiness around the pillow and the head.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF AT LEAST ONE EMBODIMENT OF INVENTION Possible embodiment of the invention will now be described in detail, one of the embodiments being shown in the accompanying drawings.

Referring to fig. 1,2, 3 and 4 one can see that the pillow set comprises soft spongy body 1, slip-on 8 and permanent Ferro magnets 6 with approximately linear magnetic field having the lines of magnetic forces a.

Body 1 is designed small in size to provide functional airiness b, fig. 6, fig. 2 and fig 5, and recess 2 has its significance in unambiguous definition of the head position on the pillow.

Additional recess 3 defines position of the pillow relative to the head and eliminates the possibility of pressure onto the blood vessels in the neck.

To provide effortless moving of the pillow along the bed, which is necessary at unconscious adjustment during sleep, it is necessary to shape slope 4.

Different scents can improve the microclimate and sleeping atmosphere (which is known as aromatherapy). With this purpose, on the sides of the pillow pockets 5 are cut, the pockets being able to receive different scents, tea bags or other forms of scent materials.

As it is said that sleeping position relative to cardinal point also has its significance due to the magnetic field of the Earth, if the natural magnetic field of the Earth is disturbed, mostly because of the"Faraday's cage", it is necessary to introduce an additional linear magnetic field, which is accomplished by linear magnets 6, fig. 3.

Pillow-case 8, fig. 4, is made from cotton material, as a slip-on opened at both ends and pulled tight with sewn-in endless elastic gums 9, leaving the slits of pockets 5 reachable.

EXAMPLE OF APPLICATION OF INVENTION The small pillow manufactured according to the description can be used by persons of all ages, both as a preventive and a curative means for protecting the neck part of the spine, and it is an improvement with respect to all other pillows. Its economy and low price, as well as many variants derived from this invention will, with a little advertising, provide a good market sale.
