The present invention pertains to the field of shipbuilding and essentially relates to ships intended for transporting loads, technical equipment, facilities and/or passengers. The purpose of this invention is to reduce the mass of the ship, to simplify the structure thereof, to allow said ship to navigate according to a planing mode with freight on board, and to ease up the loading and unloading operations as well as the embarkation or disembarkation of passengers. To this end, the support structure of the ship is made in the form of a pontoon which has a wedge shape at its longitudinal vertical section and tapers in the aft direction. The engines are arranged in an engine compartment comprising a free space that communicates with the rear portion of the pilot house through a hatchway formed in the deck. The pilot house together with a storeroom and a toilet cabin form a single unit. The ship further includes an access ramp provided in its front portion, wherein the height of the ramp axis can be modified due to the wedge shape of the structure, thus facilitating loading and unloading operations.
