Abstract:
The present invention relates to a ballast water processing system and a method for controlling same, and more specifically to a ballast water processing system capable of controlling the flow rate of the back-flush water and to a method for controlling same, the ballast water processing system being provided with a filtration apparatus preventing excessive discharge of back-flush water, which shortens the time a freighter spends moored, thereby allowing incidental expenses to be reduced, wherein the filtration apparatus comprises: a body into and from which ballast water flows; a filter for filtering the ballast water flowing inside the body; an automatic flushing unit for sucking in back-flush water and foreign substances attached to the filter, and back-flushing the filter; a back-flushing pipe for discharging, to the outside of the body, the back-flush water and foreign substances discharged from the automatic flushing unit; and a control valve for supplying suction power, by opening the back-flushing pipe, for the automatic flushing unit to suck in the back-flush water and foreign substances.
